Elena Colombi 1

THE ITALIAN NEW WAVE

Bienoise is an electronic musician whose productions are balanced between contemplation and clubbing, with a deep fetishism for instruments pushed to their limits and mash-ups between musical genres.

A Londoner who was born in Italy, Elena Colombi is a respected DJ and radio host on NTS. Her musical style taps into a wide array of influences and inspirations. Never one to pander to trends, she embraces the best elements of the past and future, paying particular attention to obscure and undiscovered artists.

Gang Of Ducks, self-described as an elastic and multiform group, is a mysterious collective working in Berlin and Turin, that has released albums and EPs by several Italian and international artists.

Mana, known as Vaghe Stelle since 2010, is now back simply as Mana and in his latest ‘Creature’ EP tries to work on an almost operatic record – a rich, melodrama of dark tension and excitable in-your-face synth melodies.

Palm Wine is a project by Simone Bertuzzi, a survey on post-global panorama with a specific eye for the movement of sounds and related imaginaries. As a DJ, he spins warm and border-crossing tunes.

Primitive Art‘s Project was born in 2011 with the partnership of Matteo Pit and Jim C. Nedd.  Their primitivism doesn’t allude to any historic avant-garde, but to an instinctive and tribal approach to the digital culture.

Both solo (as in her recent debut album ‘Air Lows’) and in her work with others, Silvia Kastel explores the outer limits and inner workings of no wave, industrial, dub, extreme electronics, free rock and improvisation.
