SOPHIE and Avalon Emerson in Milan

On the 18th October Milan will host the preview show of the 18th edition of Club To Club Festival with SOPHIE and Avalon Emerson on stage.

Sophie Xeon, known as SOPHIE, english producer, songwriter and DJ, based in Los Angeles, since 2012 with her first single “Nothing more to say” experiments disparal musical spheres from undergroung dance music to major label pop. Her sculptural sound that evokes extrasensory experiences based on physical sound qualities, brings her to “Product”(2015), a singles compilation (including “Blipp” and “Lemonade” hits), defined by the New York Times as “a glossy surface with deeper implications … not a satire or comment on pop, but a distillate of what pop could be.” In the meantime, she works with star such as Madonna, Nicki Minaj and Charli XCX. Her music can be defined as a transmutable sound across hip-hop, R&B, J-pop and dancehall. Last year, SOPHIE took a bold stride forward with the release of “It’s Okay To Cry,” a tender ballad and self-directed video clip released in October, where SOPHIE puts herself in front of a microphone and a camera for the first time, introducing also visual elements. In 2018 she comes back with a new album,“Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides”: iperrealistic and plastic sounds alternated with her voice explore dreamy and surrealistic atmosphere.

This preview show will also feature Berlin-based American artist Avalon Emerson. Her music originates from the giant Sonora desert in Arizona, as a big journey that takes her to the actual capital city of electronic music and makes her one of the most appreciated contemporary underground DJs. Whities, Shtum and Spring Theory released her first works, testifying the importance of her new and fresh sound in the contemporary music scene.
