Great artists and experimentation

Club To Club welcomes back Apparat, a dreamy musician who’s highly symbolic of Berlin in its more creative and original side, who will now present “Live Soundtracks” (a concert exploring his production for cinema and theater including his soundtrack for Mario Martone’s movie “Il Giovane Favoloso”) and Jeff Mills, an artist who, with his untarnished, genial and alien groove has contributed significantly to the international reputation of Detroit techno.

The festival’s 15th edition will also be an opportunity to experience the new live performance by a hypnotic and conceptual musician such as Oneohtrix Point Never, always hanging in the balance between experimentation and accessibility, and a brand new live set by Andy Stott, who has given a twist to his style through recent album ‘Faith In Strangers’.

There will be room for American experimental composer and sound artist Holly Herndon, who recently landed on the prestigious 4AD label with her new album ‘Platform’, as well as for Carter Tutti Void, a transgenerational project involving Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti from legendary pioneers of industrial sound Throbbing Gristle, together with Nik Void of Factory Floor.

Battles, the crossover Warp band notorious for their unmissable live performances, are back in action and will present material from their new album, and the programme will also feature Shackleton, a cult producer who emerged from the dubstep scene to forge a unique style that has earned him a loyal following.

The sound of Kuedo is as indefinable as rich with references, especially to sci-fi, while you can’t help but identify as extreme the noisy electronic sounds produced by multimedia New York artist Dominick Fernow under the pseudonym Prurient.

Born in Texas but now residing in Berlin, Lotic is among the most interesting new names in experimental and apocalyptic electronic sounds, as noted by Bjork who commissioned him a remix. And there will be Soundwalk Collective, an international art collective based both in New York City and Berlin which has become well-known for unique installations and performances, such as Underground, created by processing sounds produced by the structure of Berlin club Berghain.
