Six thousands people have taken part in the six events that Springtime brought to Alfa MiTo Club To Club between March and May 2014 in Milano, Torino and Istanbul: six preview events that mark the path towards the 14th festival edition, #C2C14 (Torino, 5th to 9th November 2014).
We kick off on 17th March in Torino with Darkside: Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington brought their dreamlike sound to the majestic frame of Teatro Carignano, one of the festival’s symbols, in a date that went sold out really fast.
On 16th April, Alfa MiTo Club To Club brings to Milano the exclusive Italian date of Metronomy‘s world tour. The English band guided by Joseph Mount played at Magazzini Generali to present Love Letters, the new, much awaited album that follows up The English Riviera.
Friday 18th and Saturday 19th April, Club To Club has been to Turkey for the fifth consecutive year with a new edition of Club To Club Istanbul, twin festival based in the Turkish megacity. The recipe: 30 artists (amongst which Oneohtrix Point Never, Zomby, Mouse on Mars, Forest Swords, The Haxan Cloak and many more) in 12 different locations in the area of İstiklal Avenue.
On 24th April, a unique lineup lands in Torino on the occasion of the collaboration between Club To Club and British festival Field Day, amongst the most important European music festivals, as part of a European series of events. It’s the first time that the English happening leaves the UK, and it’s the first ever collaboration between the two festivals: a partnership built over the shared musical attitude, always balancing between pop and avant-garde. Taking place at Hiroshima Mon Amour, the lineup sported the likes of Jon Hopkins, Oneohtrix Point Never e SOHN.
In order to celebrate at its best the tenth anniversary of his influent lable Hyperdub, on 16th May Steve Goodman aka Kode9 arrived to Dude Club, Milano, together with Scratcha DVA, Cooly G, DJ Spinn and Taso. A special celebration, dedicated to the memory and music of the unforgettable DJ Rashad, pioneer and symbol of Chicago’s footwork genre.
Last but not least: Thursday 29th May the heart of Alfa MiTo Club To Club is once again beating in Milano, this time for the much awaited Italian comeback show of Steven Ellison aka Flying Lotus. Ellison presented the updated version of his extraordinary 3D show Layer3,blending futuristic music and visuals inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. On stage with him, his MC alias Captain Murphy and bass virtuoso Thundercat with his band.
