James Holden

UK / Border Community

Seven years after the release of James Holden‘s milestone debut album ‘The Idiots Are Winning’, 2013 sees the producer, DJ and founder of the Border Community label finally return in a big way, with a record of suitably epic proportions: ‘The Inheritors’ is a bold, psychedelic journey, with a production aesthetic that is all his own.

The title is borrowed from a William Golding novel, and it takes inspiration from the sound and landscapes of Holden’s native Britain, such as Elgar, The KLF, field recordings and British folk music. Nobody is making electronic music as explorative as this, and none other than Thom Yorke has called him to support Atoms For Peace in their autumn US tour.
