Growing up in Wales before moving to Glasgow, inspired by artists such as John Coltrane, Lewis Roberts then discovered electronic music and created the Koreless moniker in 2008. The 22-year-old creates a sense of space in his music that some spend a lifetime trying to achieve, and it’s not by chance that he already received support from the likes of Jamie XX, Jacques Greene, Mark Pritchard and Mount Kimbie. After drawing on 2-step rhythms and soulful electronica in his early tracks, as on his 2011 debut EP ‘4D’, his musical language seems to be heading more and more away from the dancefloor, as on his latest and beautiful EP ‘Yugen’, recently released on Young Turks.
